This game is known in Japan as 'Gun Ball'.
With so many simularities between this game and 'Smash T.V.', it makes you wonder how Data East managed to avoid a lawsuit from Williams for copyright infringement (they were sued by Capcom a year later for the simularities between 'Fighter's History' and 'Street Fighter II - The World Warrior' but Capcom lost the case in the end).
